Intensive English Program (tie.uic.edu/intensive-english/)

This program offers two study options: full-time (~20 hours per week) or half-time (~10 hours per week).
Students must enroll in full-time study in order to qualify for an I-20.
Students improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing by studying a challenging curriculum and actively participating in the classroom.

Applications from overseas should be received about 4 weeks before the start of the session. Contact the Tutorium for details.

Please note that your application is not complete for the Intensive English Program until you have submitted all required documents and have paid all required fees. You will be prompted to submit the $175 application fee after submitting the application.

English for International Professionals and Special Programs (tie.uic.edu/esl-programs/english-for-international-professionals/)

The courses in this series include academic and professional skills, test preparation, online courses and TESOL training.
The courses generally meet 2 to 6 hours per week and/or may be online courses.
Students who enroll in these courses are NOT considered full-time English language learners.
